Henley Beach Re-Design
Two-storey, six-apartment residential redesign
This project involved the redesign of a two-storey apartment development comprising six dwellings, including a fully accessible unit. The client sought a design that would stand out architecturally while fostering a strong sense of community and connection among residents.
Inspired by the client’s love of art and shared living, the design incorporates expressive façade elements and integrated artwork to establish a distinctive visual identity. Communal spaces were prioritised, including a shared BBQ and entertaining area, along with a herb garden to encourage interaction and shared ownership of the space.
Accessibility was a key consideration throughout the project, with inclusive and practical design principles informing the layout and circulation. Energy efficiency was also a priority, with future-focused features such as EV charging incorporated into the development.
The result is a considered, community-oriented design that balances functionality, sustainability, and bold architectural character, well suited to its coastal setting.
